What is Pediatric Psychology?
Pediatric Psychology is dedicated practice addressing the relationship between children's physical, cognitive, social, and emotional functioning and their physical well-being, including maintenance of health, promotion of positive health behaviors, and treatment of chronic or serious medical conditions. In recognition of the close interplay between children's psychological and physical health, Pediatric psychology has developed liaisons with several pediatric societies and many pediatric psychologists have become experts in the behavioral and developmental aspects of acute and chronic diseases.
Dr. Kline’s Practice
As a psychologist who specializes in children, teens, and young adults, I see a diverse population of patients. My practice age range is from birth to about 23-years-old. I do see a few adults in my specialty area of ADD/ADHD. Most of my practice focuses on school and learning. These include successful learning strategies, emotional well-being, and heath. Clinically, I work with many families that have ADD/ADHD, Learning Disorders, and school stress. Anxiety issues and phobias are also quite typical. These last problems overlap with Obsessive/Compulsive symptoms and even Tic Disorders. Depression stemming from many sources is also prevalent in my practice. Assessment and testing is often needed but not always necessary. I work and consult with schools almost on a daily basis as well as your family physician.
Thank you for your interest in my practice and Pediatric Psychology!
